This intimate 1 acre lake was formally part of the Specimen Carp lake.

It is now a separate lake with a stock of over 50 Carp ranging from 10lbs to 30lbs. The target species for most anglers though are the larger Wels Catfish with 18 currently inhabiting the lake ranging from 32lbs to 71lbs! There are also a few Grass Carp to at least 25lbs. This lake is very challenging to fish but with some great rewards for experienced anglers.

The Boat Lake gets its name from the fact that a bait boat is a must to access all areas of the lake due to power lines restricting casting. However, approximately 70% of the water can be fished without using a bait boat.

This lake is an exclusive booking lake only, meaning that when you book it you have your own private lake for the period that you have booked. The lake is perfect for 1 or 2 anglers, but can accommodate 3 anglers in total.

Please note that it is 250 metre walk from the car park to this lake.

All 24 hour session to start at 10am, please vacate by 9.30am the following day. Some flexibility may be possible for longer sessions.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE CATFISH IN THIS LAKE WE MAY NOT TAKE YOUR BOOKING IF WE CONSIDER YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO SAFELY HANDLE THESE FISH

Lake Rules

  • Maximum of 3 rods per angler and 6 rod total for the lake.
  • Maximum hook size 2. Microbarbs are allowed on this lake as it can be weedy at times.
  • Minimum line strength 20lbs.
  • 42″ minimum landing net, large padded mat and rigid frame weigh sling required.
  • A  very large mat, weigh tripod and XL sling are provided for this lake and must be used to handle all Cats.
  • Bait boat use allowed.
  • No casting in peg 1. Anglers must use a bait boat or baiting pole to position bait.
  • Accompanied under 16s may fish this lake only by prior arrangement and subject to experience and behaviour.
